Hiddel Brock Wood is amazing for children (and adults). Abbey is sooooo knowledgeable and so talented. Her vast knowledge, love of her wonderful woodland and natural joy in children is clear in her books... my kids adore the books as well as the other bits we've bought. The books are both educational and fun. The illustrations just drew me and the kiddies in... Highly recommended! Cant wait for more!

“What The Oak Tree Sees” has long been our absolute favourite nature story and we haven’t been disappointed by the latest addition to the series, “The Tree That Held The Moon” 🌳🌙 With poetic narrative and stunning, hand drawn illustrations, the story is both engaging and informative. There is additional material at the end of the book which nicely supplements what has been learnt during the story. It’s sustainably printed too! We often reach for this beautiful book and I’d highly recommend it, and “What The Oak Tree Sees” to any little (or big!) nature lovers!

Abbey's exquisite illustrations and beautiful story, perfectly pitched to share for every generation of the family to enjoy. Discovering what the oak tree sees, learning animal tracks and a gentle reminder to always leave no trace of ourselves in nature. We have spent a lovely morning reading this over and over again, discovering this book over and over its definitely going to be a regular read in our house! So thank you Abbey for sharing Hiddel Brock Wood with us and Thea was delighted that Brock came out of his tunnel to personally stamp her book!

We are lucky enough to have a small oak wood nearby and this book has brought it alive for us. My 4yo and I have always enjoyed walking there but the book has really opened our imaginations and got us talking about who lives there

Absolutely beautiful products. We have the book and story sack and I cannot recommend them enough. Great way to get children connected with nature plus quiet imaginative toys in a world of technology is always fantastic. We have bought the book as gifts too as we love it so much.

Absolutely love this book! I have used it in the woods with the children I look after, along with the animal tracks cards. We had fun looking for signs of the creatures that feature in the book and making maps.

We've just received our copy of The Tree That Held The Moon and wow, we love it just as much as the first book from the Hiddel Brock Wood series! My daughter has been fascinated with the illustrations, especially the birds. A must have addition to the bookshelf for all nature loving children!

A gorgeous book detailing the life cycle of an ash tree. Beautiful illustrations and so many little details to spot each time you read the story. Shared with my groups at Forest School, so many possible teaching points, as well as being a lovely rhyming story to listen to. Love that it has been sustainably printed. Thank you!

Another wonderful book, it feels a little magical too and reminds of the feeling I used to get as a kid when reading the Enchanted Wood with the far away tree by Enid Blighton. Lovely illustrations that weave their way through the story keeping the children enthralled We’re ready for the next one when you are!!!

Author Visit: Absolutely wonderful, the communication from beginning to end was wonderful, a true collaboration to get the best out of our experience for the children. Being world book day, the aim of the session was to raise awareness of the role of an author and illustrator, celebrate a love of books and embrace our shared enjoyment of nature and the outdoors. The session did exactly this - it was wonderful! My class were extremely excited to be learning outdoors and meeting an author, throughout Abbey's delivery was calm, composed and centred around the book and love of nature which motivated and engaged the children immensely. Our session which was all centred around exploring nature and creating stories was wonderful. The children developed a greater understanding of the process an illustrator takes alongside an author in creating a book. They learnt about the stages of a tree lifecycle and how to measure it's age. Best of all they had the opportunity to collaborate in groups to use their setting description work when writing their own part of the story. It is a truly beautiful book, such wonderful illustrations and a lovely story line. It is a great way to promote a love of nature and an importance to care for our environment. As we are learning space next term, it was also a fab link to phases of the moon. The activities were well resources and planned, the children were busy form start to finish and learnt a great deal. Absolutely wonderful session, I would highly recommend. It was the perfect addition to our World Book Day fun. My class have a greater interest in nature, plant lifecycles and capturing nature through sketching and drawing
